Security Comes At A Price

The Star  :  Tuesday February 23, 2010

MUCH has been said and reported on the issue of illegal gates and road blocks across public roads in housing areas in Petaling Jaya.
No one can deny that the existence of a gated and guarded community has greatly complemented police efforts to keep crime at bay. However, I do agree that it should be controlled and monitored by the residents’ association of the area.

In Taman Mayang Jaya (SS26), Petaling Jaya where I stay, we are only able to have one shift of guards during the night and we have been crime-free with 24-hour patrols during the Chinese New Year.
Although 24-hour patrols cannot guarantee a crime-free area, no one can deny that there is a major drop in the crime rate.

The trouble is that most residents who complain are those who refuse to join the scheme for reasons best known to themselves.
Many such residents do not even mix with the neighbours and refuse to become members of the residents’ association.

Such people like to ride on the charity of others.
These residents keep complaining especially to the press but when the residents’ association holds meetings to discuss security issues in the area, you will never see their faces.
When the security scheme succeeds in deterring outsiders from committing crimes in the area, these same people will think that there is no crime in the area since they have not heard anything.

The other group who vehemently oppose such security schemes are the outsiders who are inconvenienced by the closure of roads which they use as access roads.
They have no regard for those who are living in the area and especially those who have been victims of crimes.
All they think of is using the roads to get to their destination.

Security comes at a price and inconvenience.
If the crime rate is very low and residents do not live in fear, no residents’ association will want to put up boom gates.
No resident will also want to pay for the security scheme if they do not have their own and their family’s security in mind.

In Taman Mayang Jaya, the boom gates at the smaller access roads are closed from 11pm to 6am with only one main access road opened.
This is to prevent robbers from coming in cars from other roads. If they have to use the main road, I am sure they will give it a second thought.

Perhaps residents’ associations in residential areas where most smaller or even main roads are barricaded with drums may have their own reasons for doing so.
They may need to re-look this by closing the main road only at night.

Residents who are not members of residents’ associations and do not even attend meetings will not know of the crimes that happen in their area.
No victim likes to go around telling the whole neighbourhood what happened to them.

Perhaps it is time residents’ associations highlight the cases that happen in their areas, citing only the road name but leaving out the victim’s name and house number.
A guarded community does help to reduce or even ensure an area is crime-free during the patrolling period.
To those who are strongly against this guarded community system, remember that crime exists and the next vicitim could very well be you or your family.

FA, Petaling Jaya.

please do not intimidate the community in taman mayang jaya with such phase like you or
your family could be the next victim. we did not buy into a gated or a guarded community.
if you feel strongly about your safety, please move and stay in a proper gated and guarded property. i have been here for the last 20 years and you are trying to insult our intellegent. tell me if crimes are only commited at night. you guys want to do something do it right. you don't have the mandate or the majority of the community as required by law to determine for everyone.
don't hide your identity if you want to comment.

Dear Mike:
Hi! I understand your stand on this issue. However, may I ask if you have any suggestion as to how we can better manage our neighbourhood from crime? Your suggestion to the author of the article above (i.e. to stay in a proper gated and guarded property) may not be applicable to everyone, esp. those who are not rich.
I believe that all of us love the community that we live in, and it should be the way to have meaningful suggestions through workable discussions in order for crime prevention to work out. I do hope you're able to provide such suggestion(s).
Thank you.

Regards,
Adrian

dear adrian.
thanks for your comments. we have the authorities eg PDRM to do the job. getting them to do their jobs properly. get them to have more patrol cars to do more rounds. the guards we have that is patrolling the area, are they qualified? have anyone done a background check on these people? if the robbers are armed with guns, will these guard fight back or run for their lives? we must ensure the police are doing their job. we are not trained to do the job for them. with all these illegal barriers and guards, the police will be complacent. there is not a single police base in taman mayang, tell me what the tmjra have been doing? some morons came up with this idea without the consultation of the majority. the bylaws are coming out soon and you all will know that this is illegal.

Mickey Mouse, talk is cheap. Who to direct or asking the authority to do their job properly. Are u the one to volunteer and lead , we will definately behind / follow u ?

I understand boom gate is illegal. Rest assured I will be the first to object to this G&G proceess once the Govt. is ready/ has enough police to man the place in TMJ ,but what are u going to do about the precent situation ? Waiting for enough police recurits ? They have be talking for several years shortage of policemen 50,000 . I suggest your sons and daughters join the force to alleviate the situation.
Or better still, u organise a RT walk the talk and see how many will volunteer ?
As I said before VOlunter Mickey, do not talk only. Be a leader.

Staying in TMJ for 20 years does not give the right to force people to leave their homes.Don't lah ask people to shift to a gated and guarded TMN. You are intimidating.

May I ask are u the current member of RATMJ ?? If not I sicerely hope u are not riding on the CHARITY of fellow residents.

You must be one of those morons who do not understand the laws. Firstly, the volunteers who came by to recruit members were not able to answer some of my questions on the issues of foriegners staying at the factories and the shop houses and area next to Kg. Cempaka which can easily access to Tmn. Mayang.
Do you really think robbers comes in cars ?
What a stupid moron you are. You talk about having my children to join the force and that is not a nice thing to say. Just like me telling you to ask your mother and father to come out with more children which have more brains that yourself. My opinions were not personal but you wanted it that way.
You talk hiding behide your arse.
As I have said, if you want to do something then do it right. Why do you think the majority of the community is not in favour of the program? Because tmjra just wanted to rush into it. You can call me by any names you like but I think you are just a coward.
You talk and hide behine the arse.
If you are a commitee member or a member of tmjra then it will make it more obvious even to consider to join. Charity of others? No need and no thank you.

Dear Mike,
I am Mr Liew Wei Beng, the current Chairman of Persatuan Penduduk Taman Mayang Jaya, have been for the last 8 years and also the current President of APAC (All Petaling Jaya Selangor Residents Association Coalition).

For your info, we will also be holding our 8th AGM soon on the 28 March 2010 and to spice things up, there will be an election of office bearers for year 2010 – 2011 this year. Care to join us? Are you a member? i think not but than it's your right or choice!

Anyway, i have been monitoring your comments lately but i couldn't find time to respond to your valuable comments.

Firstly, i think we have to lay down some ground rules.

No name calling such as morons,Mickey Mouse, cowards, vulgarities etc and getting personal and emotional. Decorum please, OK?

Be patient with me Mike and let me try to rebut all your useful comments which i appreciate.

There are about 5,000 residents in Tmn Mayang Jaya and by being involved in the blog and posting your comments show you are a true resident of Mayang Jaya and you are really concerned about happenings in our community.

Whether we are doing it right or wrong,we must learn to agree to disagree.I have read your comments and i gather you got most of your info from the media you have read. I am not saying they are all wrong but maybe written in a wrong perspective.

We all know 'boom gates and barricades' are illegal under Section 46 of the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974, and Section 80 of the Road Transport Act 1987 and the Residents' Association is taking a big risks to protect and secure the community. We may be sued and we are not paid and we are all volunteers. With this current hype about illegality in the media, i think Resident Associations are going to give up trying to secure their respective neighbourhood for a simple reason - certain groups are trying to run us down with the continuous negative comments. All we need is a temporary respite or support until security improves, PDRM personnel increases and pondok Polis built in all communities and manned by Polis. Then we will all take down our barriers.

They are not helping us by directing all their flak at us instead of to the Authorities concerned such the MBPJ, PDRM (POLIS), MINISTERS ie Home Minister, Housing Minister, Road Transport Minister or to the PM on why crime has escalated to such frightening level or to point where residents have to resort to securing their respective neighbourhood with boom-gates or barricades. Mind you all these cost us a lot of money, do you honestly think we choose to pay for our security if we have other choices? Yes! we pay income tax, Polis are supposed to do their job etc,etc

For your info, Taman Mayang Jaya Residents' Association was first founded (i am a founding member) to secure the community of Taman Mayang Jaya sometime in 2001 where snatch theft, robbery and burglary was very rampant.

We managed to bring down crime to a certain limit by working very closely with the Police and the Member of Parliament than. I was against the erection of 'boom-gates & barricades' as they are illegal and we did not until recently from November 2009. The reasons are simple. Member residents who met me and those who phoned me, asked me a simple question. Mr Liew, the communities surrounding Taman Mayang Jaya such as Tmn Megah, Tmn SEA, Damansara Jaya, Tmn Mayang etc have put up 'boom-gates & barricades' to secure their neighbourhoods, what are you doing about security in our Taman?

Now Mike, you mentioned about intimidation, mandate, consultation,. We (when I say we, I refer to our Residents' Association or the Committee which i helm) do not intimidate anyone, if you are aware of any of my committee members intimidating anyone especially residents, please let me know!

We must learn to accept differing views and learn to live together in one community which is Tmn MAYANG JAYA.

PERSATUAN PENDUDUK TAMAN MAYANG JAYA said...

We set up the Security Program sometime in November 2009.

Firstly, before we started, we did a survey amongst the residents who (consultation) lives in Taman Mayang Jaya, those who bothered to respond to us when we called on them individually - house to house. After the survey, we found out the majority actually supports the security program. From there, we decided to call for an EGM on the 28 October 2009 to discuss Security with our members. About 150 members attended and honestly i was moved by their support and concerns about security.(during our AGM We get about 50 members attending)A resolution was passed during the EGM to authorize the Residents' Association to set up the Security Program, we did get our mandate. All those who attended the EGM supported us and they represented the majority. For those who chose not to attend or become members this is their right. Our residents association is open to all residents to join as members.

Now to answer your suggestion to Adrian to move into a 'Gated & Guarded Community'. Well you may be right but for your info, the present gated and guarded are also illegal. Did you know that?

As for our present security arrangement, it may not be the best but it has reduced crime in our community. For RM30 per household or RM1.00 per day, we try to provide some 'form' of security to our community. We do not intend to secure our community with the best money can buy because my philosophy is there isn't a 'the best security system' or 'fail safe' or 100% security system. We provide the minimal and it is only a deterrent system!

Prevention is better than cure!

Dear Mr.Liew - Chairman of TMJRA

Thank you for taking time to respond on my comments. As a resident of course I care enough for my community here. I didn't think by putting up 'boom gates and barricades' by tmjra before the majority of the approximate 5000 residents agrees to is a good idea. The 150 or so who attended do not represent as proxy for the majority. Even when the survey was done from house to house I had supported it initially but I didn't expect tmjra to rush into starting it without first studying the various loop holes and the legality of putting the 'boom gates and barricades'.

We also have some shophouses and workshops that are housing alot of foriegn workers. Wheather they are here legally or not we really do not know. I am sure you don't know too. Access from Kg. Chempaka to Tmn. Mayang Jaya can be done easily. Some just cross over by the river or thru the workshop area. There are theives amongst the residents. I have potted plants stolen before so I am sure. Do crimes only happen after midnight? Are outsiders always the culprit? There many things that must be look into before tmjra had rushed into this program.

If you didn't know, I was told that a car window was smashed and some stuff were taken from inside the car and a snatch theft happened at a bak kut teh shop. Maybe nobody mentioned that to tmjra. That's is why you always think that the crime rates are down.

Please tell me when was the last time we had roads in our area tarred? There are so many potholes. Why didn't tmjra complain to the authorities to get it done. Is tmjra only interested in implementing this security program? If I am not mistaken, it was about two General Elections ago since the roads here were resurfaced. Are we into politics too?

I did not ask Adrian to move out into a gated and guarded property. I had said if people are so afraid of their safety, they should consider moving to one. Taman Mayang Jaya have been the same for the last 10 years or more as we do not have any new properties or developments here for a long time. The developer did not design or plan this Taman to be a 'boom gates and barricades' area. If there is an emergency, will the ambulans know where to go and turn? What happens if a tmjra members whose homes were broken into? Who will be responsible? Is tmjra covering their members with a insurance policy if we get rob? The guards employed are rude. I personally had encountered them when I came back late one night. And I am not the only one.
The guards act like thugs, maybe they were told to do so by their employer for cars without the tmjra stickers. Maybe this is the way to compel residents to join. Is it ???
Guards doing their rounds on bikes are noisy yakking away most of the time. If there is a robbery in progress, the robbers will probably
hide as they know the guards are coming.

By not having a majority consensus means what tmjra are doing is illegal and are also depriving and creating inconveniences to the majority. Please get the 80+ percent mandate from the 5000 residents as required before implementing anything. And to do that, you'll have to convince the residents here that all the loop holes are covered. Please do it the right way. So far no documentations presented on tenders from contractors to provide security or to build the barriers. Who is funding it? What are the cost? Please, without tranparencies who would want to join? Now pay RM30/mth but for how long ? Next increase how much? How many have joined? Actually we can count.

Mr.Chairman. Please do answer all these questions to us all, the majority who have not join so that we can be convince and support the cause.

Regards.
Mike Fong

Mike

Crime knows no one, knows no time, knows no place, knows no .......... Crime can happen to me, you, my family, your family, anybody. This is not a threat for goodness sake. This is a REAL FACT. Face that, the more you realise earlier, the better!

It is residents that you or your family that have never been a vitim of crime will you say what you have been saying. Only those who are victims of crime will know the agony they went through ......... thieves entering their houses at night, being held at knife-point, injured, family members got raped, etc.

Before this thing happened, prevention is better than cure. After all the prcautions have been taken, yet it happened, then you can say it is fated?

Why do you lock your house? It is because you fear that someone else in the name of intruder will enter your house. Same as why do we have security guards? We hope that the presence of these guards will in a way deter the intruders from carrying out their acts so easily. Same as why do we switch on our porch and back lights? You think it is for show? It is to deter these thieves, because if I am the thief, I would be real stupid to choose a well-lighted house.

Switching on the lights will cost be about RM10 per month? Guards at RM30 per month. RM40 is real indeed a small price to pay for security. RM40 gone does not make me a millionaire nor will it makes me a poor man. What is RM40 to most houses in TMJ. Most have two cars, one house at eight. If some residents who cannot afford to pay, its okay - nobody is forcing them. But look at the living stardard of most residents in TMJ. Need I say more?

What goes round comes around. Do good things to others, support your community ........ good things will come back to you.

If you are concern about security, come for the Marcg 28 TMJRA AGM. Make sure you come and show your presence there so that we can have you in the Committee. I am sure you want to contribute to the well being and safety of TMJ, dont you.

We have make TMJ our house. You must respect others views. If you do not agree, give your constructive suggestions as to how to improve security. Do not call people by names. That is very sinful. Nobody should even suggest anybody to move out. What we are concern is security. If everything is ok, no worries of security in TMJ, who would want to put up the booms at mid-nite and pay RM30. I may as well donate the RM30 to charity - its is good to see to see the smile on the deserving person's face who receive the money.

As FA has said, security comes with a price and incovenience. If you do not want security or not concern about security in TMJ, I have nothing more to say about you. But if you are indeed concern, show your concern and sincerity as FA has put it very clear in his letter.

Nothing is FREE in this world, if it is indeed free so to speak, all the costs have been calculated in. As the latest TMJRA newsletter which I hoped you have received and read it, some people like to ride on the charity of others. Comments like why should I pay when my neighbout is paying?

It not my intention to accuse you as one of them. I can only pray that you are not one of them. Only you and God knows.

Spare a thought for those who may be a victim of crime - eventhough you may be damn sure that you wont be one, now or the future. Perhaps, some are very sure their houses wont be entered becuase they have a good alarm system which I cannot afford, or have a good watch dog which I do know own one. Remember again, crime DO happen OUTSIDE the house.

If indeed it has now come to your senses that you or your family may one day be one, I think it is best that you rethink what you have wrote.

I am not asking for an apology, just some sensible thinking from you.

Hello Mike,
I am an Indian staying in TMJ 10 years.I write to show my disappointment with you and your insinuating remarks about us "Indians"
We are proud of our religion and heritage. Not once did I raised any racial remarks about other races, especially the Chinese, cause they are our good neighbors.
The guards though Indians are here to Chari Makan. They are putting their lives at risk so that we can have a better night sleep.
Please do not write with the notion that all Indian youths are thugs. You are demeaning Indians as a whole and creating disharmony in the society.
Are you prepared to face the ISA??of inciting racial conflict.
Just because you are Chinese does not give the right to distort facts that all Indians are thugs.
I urge you to cease this irresponsible remarks of creating ill will amongst races.Indians who read your remarks are very angry.
Can you give me Address and MIC youths will like to visit you to explain of our predicament.

Mike write with a damaging tone. Read below the line. He is getting personal but he is in the delusive mood of denying.

LIEW WEI BENG TMJRA CHAIRMAN said...

Dear Mike,
Let me try to answer your issues.
1.150 residents who turned up for the EGM do not represent as proxy for the majority of 5000 residents. TMJRA is open to all residents to become members including you. Every resident has a right to join by filling up an application form and paying a fee. 'Membership has its privileges'
TMJRA is a registered Association and we have our constitution. As a member you can choose to attend any meeting called by the RA and use that forum to articulate your case for or against. If you choose not to join as a member you have forfeited your right to speak and to vote for any resolution forwarded during any RA meeting. An analogy " during the recent general election March 2008, every citizen above 21 years of age who have registered to vote can cast his vote for any candidate offered during the election. If you choose not to register you forfeit your right to vote! If you are registered but you choose not to cast your vote, the eventual winner whether you like him or not, by majority vote will be the elected ADUN OR MP of your constituency, right? Are you saying just because you did not vote our PM Najib during the last election, he has no right to be your PM? This formula applies to TMJRA as well. You see, our RA is open to all residents above 18 yrs to join as a member. If you are a member you can attend the AGM to elect your office bearers to represent your interest. The majority principle still applies. Just because you did not vote for me i am not a valid or legal chairman? My point is very simple. Every member had a right to attend the EGM and if you choose not to attend, any decision (majority votes) made binds the community! So in this case the 150 who attended had their voices heard loud and clear! As for the 5000 residents i was referring to all residents of TMJ not members of TMJRA.
You talked about us rushing into installing boom-gates and legality of it. Of cause we did not do that, we had numerous meetings which you are not aware of. You actually behaving like an 'arm-chair critic' and not giving us any 'constructive proposals'. Like i said many times we knew the boom-gates are illegal i don't need you to tell me that. What i need from you is how to overcome the illegality and in the same note secure our community! Any ideas?

LIEW WEI BENG TMJRA CHAIRMAN said...

Dear Mike,
2. I do not pretend to know everything that is happening in TMJ. Knowing residents need to share them with me so that i can perform my duties efficiently. You referred to foreigners in TMJ and Kg Cempaka - legal or illegal? Well, to be honest i do know about them and did you know we installed fences along the river Sg Kayu Ara next to SS26/9A, SS26/9B to keep them out. Did you also know they cut the fences to gain entry into residential houses to commit burglary? In fact, last night the fences were cut again, the security guards detected the breach and the residents were alerted including the police. Let me tell you this, no security measures are fail proof if residents do not cooperate and work together to secure our community. If we continue to argue about illegality or the legality of it, the criminals will enjoy themselves committing crime in TMJ while we argue! And you seem to know so much about crime in TMJ may i ask what did you do with all this info? Did you share them with the police? What did you do?
3. Roads tarred? Did you know exactly when the roads were last tarred? Answer 2004 just before the election, i requested for it, did you know that? Did you know that all roads are to be tarred every 5 years? Did you also know there was an MBPJ Budget meeting on the 16 October 2009 to decide if a budget is secured to tar the roads in TMJ? I have put in a request. When to tar? Please check with your councilor Mr Darren Tiong @ 016-2100058 for our area. Did you know there is councilor in charge of our Zone? Of course not!
4. You talked about emergency. When was the last time you were aware of an emergency? Never, right? Imagine this, there is a fire in TMJ at about 9 am. The bomba at SS2 opposite KDU College (for your info) gets into LDP which is always congested or jammed and it takes them 1/2 hour or even more to reach TMJ, Are you then suggesting we should all remove the cars from using the LDP?
Our boom-gates are always manned or the guards are always on patrol when the gates are downed, if there is an emergency they will open the gates. Anyway, emergencies are very rare but it doesn't mean i am not concerned but i am more concerned about crime in TMJ as it happens every other day!
5. You talked about insurance coverage for residents who may be robbed. Come on do you honestly mean that. I hope not!The RA does not guarantee 'crime free' not even the police! Did you raise this issue with the police about insurance coverage? If you need insurance coverage, buy your own!
6. Yes, my guards are rude, noisy, thugs etc
If they don't behave like that do you honestly think the potential criminals will be scared of them!
7. As for getting 80% consensus i have no problem with that but you have to help ME to get all the other 5000 residents to become members of TMJRA and after they have become members they can exercise their right to be heard by calling for an EGM and move a motion or to vote to discontinue the illegal boom-gates and propose a legal way to resolve the crime or security issue.
Failing all that it is cheap and easy to criticize and be an arm-chair critic!

Hello Mike,
Are saying Mr. Liew as a Chairman of TMJRA is not competent of doing his job properly.
So many loopholes with security and roads not resurfaced for many years and trees not cut and trimmed,a lot of dead tree leaves and rubbish left on the padang.
From your write up I gathered that you are writing to inform us that he is incompetent and too long as a chairman where his credential is a question mark.
Or most probably you want to contest for post of TMJ chairman. You are welcome ,just attend the 8th AGM on the 28th March 3pm and mention your name.
Mike,If you intend to become a chairman do not chicken out now is the time show us your true colour and the way to undo the past mistakes. We will follow you like bees to honey.Don't just make comments on the sideline. Show us what
substance You are made off.But remember you will be damned the very minute your performance is worst than Mr. Liew as we will bench mark you with him.Are you prepared for the worst and don't tell you have no time and do not disappoint us for not turning up. As you have said do not be coward and the onus is on you to challenge/prove us wrong.
See at the meeting on the 28th 3pm. If you do not come and challenge the chairman your future name will not be Mike Fong.
In the final analysis we need good helpful leaders to lead to make our Tmn a better and safer place to come back after a hard day's work at the office.
Cheers

Well said Mr. Liew chairman of TMJ. I am proud to become one of the new member.
Here residents are not interested about the legality of boom gates but the safety first. Mike you can write /deliberate until the cows come home but we failed to do something ,we just simply Failed. You can have the best plan in the world about security but not executed means nothing . Thieves meantime have a field day in TMJ.
Come exercise your rights as a RA member or are you a member first ??Its a shame if you are not.

Mike should read Adrian's letter which appeared in another blog for easier reading, entitled "Stop Bickering Until the Cows Come Home"

This is a very good one for Mike to eat it!

My advice to Mike is that, although everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, when you have nothing good to say, you can say the no good thing but at the same time, offer some constructive suggestions to see how well the security problems can be overcome as well said by Mr Liew.

Dont degrade other races although you dare not openly say it. Crime does not recognise race. I challenge you - put down your real address in TMJ if you have what it takes to be a man because in your first comment, you asked the writer "do not hide your identity if you want to comment". Not all guards (Indians, in case of TMJ)are thugs, although there may be some black sheep as in everywhere. Sometimes an Indian can think better than YOU. Shame on you for having bad thoughts about others.

And now, will you please read Adrian's article ...

Stop Bickering Until the Cows Come Home (this is the title of Adrian's article)

A question for Mike to ponder

Adrain well said with good intentions as Action speaks louder than words.
It reminded me of a recent meeting. We came out of the meeting with lots of ideas but no action plan on who to do what. Not that we don't know what to do but who would like to take responsibility of the project.
So you see it takes all types of animals to makes this world ticks.
Some talks a lot but no action. Some pretends to know everything but knows nothing at all.Worst of the lots are the ones who push / trick others to do their bidding for them by giving suggestions( malicious intentions). So what categories of animals are you ?
Of course none that suits you, cause you greater than God.

Dear All. Mr. Chairman Liew

Many have written on my comments but choose to insult me here and do not provide their names, what a shame. I never mentioned about races, who the hell interpreted it that way? One commented i insulted his race. Did I do that? Who is turning this into a racial issue. I said the GUARDS and I never refer to any particular race.

Thank you Mr.Chairman Liew for confirming the the guards are RUDE and acts like THUGS. Are our PDRM like that in detering potential criminals?

Mr.Chairman Liew, You may call me an 'arm- chair critic'. However, I did not say I would not join. I merely requested to be enlighten on certain issues and measures be resolved and there should be transparencies. Everyone is going on a defensive mode. Why ???

I have stayed in the Lily Apartment before and my unit and my neighbour's unit were broken into. In fact many units were broken into. It's supposed to be gated, guarded and safe. What makes you guys think that I never experienced it before. My mom was a victim of snatch thief. What did the police do when you make a report? For statistics only.

I am not interested in any positions in the RA. I am not power crazy nor not into politics. This will be my last posting here. No point commenting anymore. You guys can say and do whatever you want. I understand my rights and my livelyhood will not be determine by others.
Please read this: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/malaysia/55200-guarded-communities-to-get-ministry-guidelines

As you said:-

"I have stayed in the Lily Apartment before and my unit and my neighbour's unit were broken into. In fact many units were broken into. It's supposed to be gated, guarded and safe. What makes you guys think that I never experienced it before. My mom was a victim of snatch thief."

Nobody is going on a defensive mood. We are very angry with your negative comments. As I have said, nothing good to say also you can saylah but givelah constructive comments to move forwardlah!

If you stay in Lily Apartment and fully guarded with the guards there 24 hours and all these happen, I think you should look at how the guards operate. But just because your guards at Lily Apartment are not efficient or you doubt your guards, TMJ guards are all like them? You ini banyak buruk sangka. Always think bad things of others and by the way have you look in the mirror and reflect about yourself?

Comments coming from one who claimed to have experienced it before and your mum was a victim of snatch theft really shocked it ...... it only shows how arrogant you are and you never learn.

Why we have this security arrangment in TMJ is to try our best to deter crime from happening. There is no 100% guarantee that crime wont happen with security guards patrolling but at least it can deter or make TMJ moer safer. We want support at least to make TMJ safer by reducing the crime rate which I know it has succeeded!

Although you did not mention race, but the fact that TMJ guards are indians smacks a racialist tone and the tone you write your comments makes me womits with names calling and just by saying that crime happens to anyone including your loved ones you say it is intimidating. What kidn of judgement or comments is this? How could such comments come from you as an educated human being?

I offer no apologies because this only goes to show that your thinking is very shallow. Cakap tak serupa bikin. Comelah, even if you are not interested in any positions in RA, come for the meeting and voice out. Do not chicken out!

I believe residents who have friends in MAXIS or CELCOM could trace your address, but to me no pointlah because confronting people like you is a pure waste of my time.

Sorrylah, now I am a bit upset. People like you likes to give only negative comments but nothing comes from your brains on how to make the situation better as a way forward. Victims of crime would have at least been supportive of what TMJRA is doing to provide a safer environment to TMJ but your comments are unbelievable of what you have went through.

TMJRA I believed has better things to do. Keep up the good work and do not let people like Mike deter what you want to do to improve the security in TMJ.

Mike Change and Repent!!

A disgrace to Christians if you are one. I will be shy if you are one who attend the same church.

After reading through comments on others I concluded that you are a selfish person. You behave/ believe as if you are absolutely correct in everything you do to extent that God is your younger brother who is subservient to you.

Better to repent now as true Christian or whatever religion you are in. It is never too late to repent and only God can forgive you .

You may be laughing inside but the days of reckoning is very near. Hope the angry Indians will not get to you first and you never know something bad can happen. I can only pray for you not to happen but if it happens it is fated or you ask for it.I don't know but God only knows.

If you continue to behave like that you have created a lot of enemies.Change your ways of viewing others. Treat them as friends and you will never know you may need their help one day.Yes you believe you are the master of your own destiny but I assured you one day you will never know you need help from friends and enemies.

Change now and change for the better.

May God Bless You!!!

Dear YO Chan, or TMJRA,

I have been receiving 3 articles from TMJRA. Each of them without fail,
1) Denouncing people who do not subscribe
2) Insulting people by saying that I ride on your benevolence
3) Further insulting that people who do not subscribe seem like cannot afford the "cheap" RM30.

And your intimidation "Next victim could be you" is very upsetting. I almost want to lodge a police report regarding this threat.

Since you give people a choice, please don't act like a loan shark or a thug by intimidating.

AND MOST IMPORTANT! I DO NOT RIDE ON YOUR BENEVOLENCE!! I did not ask you to protect my house! I don't need your service! My dog sniffs better than your guards! So stop acting like you are very benevolent.

Please have some respect on residents here, although we do not pay the so-called "cheap" RM30 fee.

RM30 is not expensive, but don;t say it is cheap. Some people work almost a day to earn it!!!!

So please have some respect in your article.

It's fine I end up being insulted like Mike above. My point is have some respect in your wording. And don;t promote by intimidating.

I write as anonymous because I "scared" you will vandalize my house. I "scared" of you more than the real burglars!

Oh yes. When I post the comment above, actually I am ready for my house being broken into.

I don't know what sort of security system you have here but me and some neighbours ( 3 house in the same row with one contributing member to your security program ) have our shoes stolen from inside our house over night on the 19 March 2011.

YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM/PROGRAM IS USELESS.
