A celebration of food and fun for all ages
The evening of 1 January 2011 started with a huge turnout by fellow residents of Taman Mayang Jaya by 7pm. Many had started arriving by 6:30pm in anticipation of a fun-filled night with lots of food and entertainment. At 7:45pm, Mr Sunny Yap gave his opening speech in which he stressed the importance of Reuse, Recycle and Reduce of solid wastes. He also mentioned that our RA is the only RA in PJ selected by MBPJ, to be given the honour of hosting a plastics compactor machine, donated by a Danish Company called DANIDA, for the recycling of used plastic bottles.
Among the other VIPs invited for the event were YB Dr Cheah (represented by his assistant) and YB Tony Pua.
Dinner was finally served at around 8:20pm, were the committee members were seen busily serving dinner to all the guests. Entertainment for the night was provided by a traditional Malay dance troupe as well as by our very own line dancers.
The evening was further "spiced up" by the lucky draw event. All in all, the event was a hugely successful one.

Better take note recycling members I am going to report your rubbish created by your team to the MPBJ and then to the Adun. Pictures has been taken and will email to them after non action. Not I like to but I am forced to if the rubbish in your compound Keeps piling and as a result of your untidy / dirty habits will definitely give rise to dengue cases.
Since I know most of the recycling members/volunteers, I will notify them of your comment posted yesterday.
I agree with the comments made by anonymous about the conditions of the recycling area next to the balai. I was there last month during the daytime and I was shocked at the rubbish collected there. Yes, to me they are rubbish and the place was stinking. The recyling members/volunteers have good intention to save the world but it should not be at the expense of the environment and health of the people in our taman.
Please learn from Taman Megah Team about recycling. They leave no rubbish behind each time they finish their work.

Why disposal of rubbish/disposable items every 2 or 3 months? That is the cause of dengue where empty bottles filled with rain water and card boards are strewn all over.
Can you all clear everything each time you all work on it. Please discard away items that you cannot recycle and keep the compound clean at all times.
Sunny, we don't to know how and when you are going to do it. Just do it and get it done.
