Letter From Resident 4

Inconsiderate Parking Along SS26/9

I'm writing this email regarding the irresponsible parking in front of houses along Jalan SS26/9 on the 11 April 2012 at 12.40am. I understand that Williams Mamak is usually packed on weekends and public holidays and parking is extremely to find. I believe that this is one the reasons that causes inconsiderate parking in this neighbourhood. However, they should park at places that will not cause inconvenience to the residents here.

Some houses in this area have more than 2 cars and they would park the cars in front of the houses. To come home and to see an unknown car in front of the house and blocked the parking space is very inconsiderate of them. In the photo attached, the green Proton Iswara parked in between two houses and it also blocked one lane of the road. I had to carefully reverse my car, Proton Saga FLX, to park it at that spot as this green Proton Iswara somewhat blocked the parking space. In this scenario, I am considered lucky as I was able to park the car. If this Proton Saga parked nearer to my house, I will have a tough time to find a place to park my car. It's okay if it's far but my own safety is something that I don't want to take a chance on, especially at this hour.

Therefore, I hope the TMJRA will be able to come up with some solutions to prevent this from repeating, not only to me but also the other residents as well. I believe the residents here would want to live here with a peace of mind.

Thank you for spending the time to read this email.

  1. Just by chance I met the PA of our councillor (Ms Tiew) today. Just ask him about the traffic at the commercial area and he said they are looking into it. Did not press for who are the "theys". I hope the RA will engage with the residents before any final decision is made. Understand the whole area will be made one way but we need to discuss which way should be "In" and which way should be "Out". Maybe it is better to come in by Road 5 and go out by Road 9. More discussions should be made to discuss the pros and cons on the traffic flow - clockwise or anti-clockwise.

  2. I often see cars parking right in the middle of the alley, thus blocking the alley entirely. This is normally by those who come for futsal.

Since they are here for sports, why can't they park near the shops and walk a bit?

And since we are on the topic of futsal, I'd like to know, are those to play residents? Is there a time limit? They often play until the wee hours of the night and they don't bother to keep it down.
