PJ Half Marathon

Dear PJ residents,


The PJ Half Marathon is finally back! It will take place at the Stadium Kelana Jaya on October 30.

The categories available are: 21km, 10km and 5km. Families who just want to have fun can join the non-competitive category of a 3km Family Fun Run.

Registration fee for 21km and 10km category is priced at RM50 while for students, the entry fee is RM15 per participant. For the family category, parents need to pay RM15 while entry for each participating child is at RM10.

This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the anti virus software's are not capable of destroying it .

The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself 'life owner'..

靈市政廳2011年主題

靈市政廳2011年主題“取之於民，用之於民”

八打靈再也市長拿督羅斯蘭表示，靈市政廳在2011年，主題為“取之於民，用之於民”的財政預算案中共批准2億7千199萬2千270令吉的款項充作收集與清理了固體廢料、提昇排水系統、重鋪路面瀝青、維修基本設施及綠化靈市等。

“在這次的八打靈再也邁向永續發展比賽中，吸引了17個居民協會和睦鄰計劃參與其盛，其中3名貢獻良多的地方領袖獲選為2009/2010年社會有功領袖獎。”

他說，17個角逐比賽的居協和睦鄰計劃均可獲1千令吉作為獎勵。

榮獲靈市社會有功人士獎：

JALAN YONG SHOOK LIN - Bandar Sri Damansara (BSD) menerima Anugerah Perdana Komuniti Mampan Petaling Jaya 2009/2010 daripada Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim pada majlis penuh gemilang di Dewan Banquet Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MPBJ) di sini, kelmarin.

Manakala Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Taman Gasing Indah pula menerima anugerah bagi kategori Keselamatan Kejiranan Terbaik disusuli Persatuan Penduduk Blok 3 Desa Mentari yang menerima Anugerah Khas Integrasi Sosial.

Anugerah Tadbir Urus Terbaik menjadi milik Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Damai Senja Petaling Utama dan Keusahawanan milik Seksyen 21 PJ manakala Kejiranan Hijau diungguli Taman Mayang Jaya.

Pengerusi Persatuan Penduduk BSD, Ravindran Raman Kutty menyifatkan penerimaan anugerah itu adalah hasil usaha dan semangat bekerjasama yang ditunjukkan seluruh penduduk di perumahan itu.

“Anugerah ini adalah untuk semua penduduk, kita berjaya anjurkan program menghijaukan kawasan perumahan termasuk sentiasa memberi perhatian kepada warga emas dan program yang kita jalankan mendapat kerjasama daripada penduduk,” katanya.

Menurutnya, penghargaan turut diberikan kepada pihak MBPJ dan polis kerana memberikan perhatian terbaik terhadap segala masalah termasuk aduan yang dikemukakan penduduk.

Sementara itu Pengerusi KRT Taman Gasing Indah, Lfred Chuah berkata, meskipun Taman Gasing Indah merupakan kawasan urban di Petaling Jaya itu bukan bermaksud tidak boleh mewujudkan komuniti di situ.

“Meskipun KRT dan Skim Ronda Sukarela (SRS) baru setahun ditubuhkan namun sambutan dan kerjasama penduduk amat baik, terutamanya apabila kita mewujudkan wakil bagi setiap lorong di kawasan perumahan ini.

“Hasil permuafakatan ini berjaya menurun kadar kes jenayah dengan mendadak dengan kerjasama erat daripada pihak polis,” katanya.

Sementara itu, Ahli Majlis MBPJ Zon 24 Halimey Abu Bakar menyifatkan anugerah yang diterima penduduk Blok 3 Desa Mentari akan menjadi contoh kepada blok lain di flat tersebut.

“Kita mahu wujudkan komuniti yang aktif menganjurkan program dan mewujudkan sebuah masyarakat yang prihatin dan bertanggungjawab.

“Sebagai Ahli Majlis saya sentiasa menyokong usaha yang dilakukan dan akan membantu penduduk dalam menganjurkan apa jua aktiviti serta program pada masa akan datang,” katanya.

60 Uses Of Salt

Although you may not realize it, simple table salt has a great number of uses other than simply seasoning your food.The following list will give you sixty uses of salt, many of which youprobably didn't realize :-

1. Soak stained hankies in salt water before washing.

2. Sprinkle salt on your shelves to keep ants away.

3. Put a few grains of rice in your saltshaker for easier pouring.

4. Add salt to green salads to prevent wilting.

5. A tiny pinch of salt with egg whites makes them beat up fluffier.
6. Rub salt on your pancake griddle and your flapjacks won't stick.
7. Use salt to clean your discolored coffee pot.
8. Mix salt with turpentine to whiten your bathtub and toilet bowl.
9. Use a mixture of salt and lemon juice to clean piano keys.
10. Rinse a sore eye with a little salt water.
11. Use salt for killing weeds in your lawn.
12. Eliminate excess suds with a sprinkle of salt.
13. A dash of salt in warm milk makes a more relaxing beverage.
14. A dash of salt enhances the taste of tea.
15. Salt improves the taste of cooking apples.
16. Freshen sponges by soaking them in salt water.
17. Add raw potatoes to stews and soups that are too salty.
18. Clean your greens in salt water for easier removal of dirt.
19. Gelatin sets more quickly when a dash of salt is added.
20. Fruits put in mildly salted water after peeling will not discolor.
21. Fabric colors hold fast in salty water wash.
22. Milk stays fresh longer when a little salt is added.
23. Use equal parts of salt and soda for brushing your teeth.

Do You Know.....

MBPJ require every household to have a dustbin ???

Sometimes, our trash in the dustbin will be dragged out and spread around on the ground by stray dogs or cats.

Well, here is a way to avoid this from happening.

If you need to throw rubbish with food in it, just add some pepper or chilli powder into the rubbish bag.  This will prevent the stray dogs or cats from going through your rubbish bin.

Try it if you have this problem !
