Free Movie By GSC

Through invitation by NACSCOM (National Council Of Senior Citizens Organisations Malaysia), 10 members of Taman Mayang Jaya Senior Citizens Club were entertained to a movie sponsored by Golden Screen Cinemas, Summit USJ, Subang Jaya on 3rd February 2010.

On that morning, all the guests were also treated to a breakfast at a "Kopi-Tiam" in front of the cinema and a health talk at the cinema hall prior to screening of the movie at 10:30am.

Thanks to the management of GSC, Summit USJ for the generous contributions.

Nature Trip To Titi Eco Farm 环保农场之旅

We wish to announce that 9 qualified volunteers of our Incentive Campaign attended the 2 day 1 night trip to Titi Eco Farm in Negeri Sembilan on 19th & 20th December 2009. The farm is surrounded by hills and lush greenery. The farm's acommodation are specially designed in traditional kampung style with wooden structure and "attap" roofing. During the 2 days, fruits & vegetables farm visits and talks were conducted by the owner of the farm who shared with us his ideas on sustainable farming, environmental issues, etc. Various important issues pertaining to environment & vegetable farming were highlighted to the participants. The visit to the farm, provided to our volunteers with a better understanding of sustainable farming, ecosystem and environment. It was also a platform to build good team work skills and closer relationships amongst our volunteers.

共有九名自愿者赢取了在2009年19日至20日两天一夜之森美兰州TITI环保农场之旅。在这两天中，他们参观了蔬果园，园主也乐於和他们分享心得。让他们受益良多。

Pesta Tanglung 中秋联欢会
 

This annual event was held on 26th September 2009 at the vicinity of the balai raya. The occasion was graced by our YB Dr Cheah Wing Yin, ADUN for Damansara Utama. The weather during the evening was unexpectedly fine, thus encouraging a large turnout. This year we saw a better mix of races joining in the celebration. One point up for our 1 Malaysia agenda ! The programme for the evening included a talk and demonstration on fire prevention, a line dance performance a buffet dinner, a children's lantern parade, children's games and karaoke session. All in all, the event was a success. Thanks to the hard work of the committee, the participation of residents and donations from the sponsors.

这项常年活动于2009年9月26日在居民协会会所举行，并由白沙罗州议员谢永贤主持开幕。由於天色作美，各族居民都踊跃出席，使这项盛会更添加了一个马来西亚色彩。这项盛会的节目也包括了防火讲座和示范，排舞，丰盛的自由餐，儿童灯笼游行，儿童游戏及卡拉OK。这项盛会的成功举行，有赖於居民的热烈参与及赞助者盛情捐献，以及居协理事的投入。

Cameron Highlands Nature Tour 金马仑高原自然之旅

A total of 31 participants have joined the 2 day 1 night nature tour to the Cameron Highlands organized by the Senior Citizen Club and Recycling Sub-Committee on 5th and 6th December 2009.

共有三十一人参加在2009年12月5日到6日，由乐龄团体筹办的两天一夜的金马仑高原自然之旅。

Honey Bee Farm     Strawberry Farm     Cactus Valley    
Butterfly Garden     Organic Vegetable Farm     Tea Plantation
Brinchang Night Market     Late Iskandar Waterfalls

Of all the above, the guided tour to the organic vegetable farm was most educational. Knowledge and understanding were enhanced with briefings given by the farm owner Mr Lee on the process of decomposing the various waste materials into fertilizer and enzyme used for the farm. The participants were encouraged to inculcate the habit of recycling with an aim to improve the environment. They also enjoyed a scrumptious organic steamboat dinner under the cold weather up in the highland.

Senior Citizens Medical check-Up 乐龄人士医疗检查

Forty five senior residents of TMJ participated in a free medical check-up held at the Balai on the 5th October 2009 from 9am to 3pm. It was conducted with the courtesy of the National Kidney Foundation. Participants were able to measure their blood pressure level, blood sugar level, cholesterol level and basal metabolic rate. They were also given advice related to health and nutrition by the Foundation's staff. After the check-up, many participants had gained a better picture of their health and were seen either making resolutions to adopt certain dietary habits or dropping them altogether.

四十五名乐龄居民参加了於2009年10月5日举行的免费医疗检查。这项由国家肾脏中心支助的医疗检查让乐龄居民检查血压，血糖，胆固醇及新陈代谢水平。他们也获取许多有关健康及营养的意见。
